Our own code

The tools and page layouts are written for this site, including the subtitle readers and writers and the MKV and MP4 readers. The pages make no requests to other servers; subtitle files and videos you open are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Third-party material

No third-party code, fonts or data sets are used. Example subtitles on the site are our own writing; the formats and recommendations we follow (WebVTT, TTML, Matroska, MP4, published subtitle and encoding guidelines) are named on each tool page.
